Cable Routing

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Remove the left instrument panel sound insulator.
2. Remove the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal.
3. Squeeze the accelerator cable cover tangs and push the accelerator cable through the bulkhead.
4. Remove the air inlet tube.
5. Remove the accelerator cable shield, if equipped.
6. Remove the accelerator cable and cruise control cable end slugs from throttle body control cams.
7. Remove the accelerator cable and from the accelerator cable bracket.
8. Remove the accelerator cable and cruise control cable from cable retainers
9. Remove the accelerator and cruise control cables from the car note routing positions.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

CAUTION:  In order to prevent possible interference and damage, flexible components (hoses, wires, conduits, etc.) must not be routed within 50 mm
(2) of moving parts, unless the routing is positively controlled.

1. Install the accelerator control cable and cruise control cable using routing noted during removal.
2. Install the accelerator control cable and cruise control cable into there retaining clips.
3. Install the accelerator cable through the bulkhead and snap into place.
4. Install the accelerator cable through the slot in the accelerator pedal lever.
5. Seat the snap retainer in the accelerator pedal lever.
6. Inspect for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal. Also check for poor carpet fit under the accelerator

pedal. The throttle should operate freely, without binding, between full closed and wide open throttle.

7. Install the accelerator cable and cruise control cable to the accelerator cable bracket.
8. Install the accelerator cable and cruise control cable end slugs to throttle body control cams.
9. Install the air inlet tube.

10. Install the left instrument panel sound insulator.
11. Install the accelerator cable shield, if equipped.
