Rear Door Exterior Handle: Service and Repair

Rear Side Door Outside Handle Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement  See: Rear Door Panel/Service and Repair 
2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement  (See: Rear Door Panel/Service and Repair)

3. Cut off the outside handle rod-to-lock clip from the lock using side cutters.
4. Unscrew the remainder of the clip from the outside handle rod.
5. Discard the clip.

6. Drill out the outside door handle rivets (2).
7. Remove the outside door handle from the handle rod and the door (2,3).

Installation Procedure

1. Attach the outside door handle rod to the door handle (2,3).
2. Install the outside door handle and the rod to the door (2,3).
3. Install the rivets securing the outside door handle to the door (2).
