9. Remove the thermostat.
10. Clean the mating surfaces.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the thermostat.
2. Install the thermostat housing and the gasket to the intake manifold.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the thermostat housing bolts.
Tighten the thermostat housing bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the exhaust crossover pipe. Refer to Exhaust Crossover Replacement in Exhaust System.
5. Install the AIR pipe.
6. Connect the radiator hose to the thermostat housing.
