Rear Suspension
Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement
Removal Procedure
The rear wheel hub and bearing are non-serviceable. If either one is damaged, you must replace the complete hub and bearing assembly.
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove the brake drum.
4. Disconnect the rear wheel speed sensor harness and the electrical connector.
5. Remove the rear wheel hub and bearing mounting bolts (2).
6. Remove the rear wheel hub (3) and bearing from the knuckle (1).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the rear wheel hub (3) and the bearing to the knuckle (1).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.
2. Install the rear wheel hub and bearing mounting bolts (2).
Tighten
Tighten the rear wheel hub mounting bolts to 70 N.m (52 lb ft).
3. Connect the rear wheel speed sensor harness and electrical connector.
4. Install the brake drum.
5. Reinstall the tire and wheel assembly.
6. Lower the vehicle.
