Keyless Entry Transmitter Battery: Service and Repair
Transmitter Battery Replacement
Under normal use, the battery in the keyless entry transmitter should last about two years.
You can tell the battery is weak if the transmitter won't work at the normal range in any location. If you have to get close to the vehicle before the
transmitter works, it's probably time to change the battery.
Disassemble
1. Transmitter by inserting a dime or flat-bladed tool into the slot on the side of the transmitter and twist to separate the halves.
2. Battery from transmitter.
Assemble
1. Battery into transmitter.
2. Reassemble the transmitter.
Inspect
1. Make sure the halves are snapped together tightly so water will not get in.
2. Proper transmitter operation.
