Exhaust Pipe: Service and Repair
Exhaust Pipe Replacement (Dual Exhaust System)
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
NOTICE: To prevent internal damage to the flexible coupling of the catalytic converter assembly, the converter must be supported. The vertical
movement at the rear of the catalytic converter assembly must not exceed 6 degrees up or down.
2. Support the following components:

Exhaust muffler
^
Exhaust pipe
^
Three way catalytic converter
3. Disconnect the insulators from the exhaust pipe.
4. The left muffler cut location is shown.
IMPORTANT: The cut must be made on the straight pipe closest to the curve (1) coming out of the left exhaust muffler. Do not cut on the curve
or the bend.
Cut the exhaust pipe from the right and the left exhaust mufflers.
5. Remove the catalytic converter bolts from the three way catalytic converter.
6. Remove the exhaust pipe from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the new exhaust pipe under the vehicle and support the pipe.
