9. Squeeze the 4 lock tabs on the intermediate steering shaft seal and pull the seal towards the inside of the vehicle in order to unseat the seal from
the instrument panel compartment pass-through.
10. Remove the intermediate steering shaft from inside the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the intermediate steering shaft under the instrument panel.
Note: Do NOT twist or squeeze the seal during installation.
2. Push the intermediate steering shaft seal forward from the inside of the vehicle until all four lock tabs are fully seated.
3. Ensure the seal is properly seated. In the engine compartment, inspect the 4 lock tabs for any damage. If the intermediate steering shaft seal lock
tabs are damaged, replace the seal.
4. Connect the intermediate steering shaft to the steering column.
