Malibu V6-3.1L VIN J (2002)
1. Install the new seal. Use the J 41102. Lubricate the seal lip with a light wipe of transmission oil.
Important: Carefully guide the axle shaft past the lip seal. Do not allow the shaft splices to contact any portion of the seal lip surface, otherwise
damage to the seal will occur.
2. Install the two new snap rings on the stub shaft.
3. Install the stub shaft into the transmission. Use a mallet.
4. Install the drive axle assembly.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Inspect the oil level.
7. Inspect the shaft and the seal for leaks.
