Interior - Rear Sunshade Unhooked at Sunroof Trim

Rear Sunshade Comes Unhooked From Rear Sunroof Trim (Install Reinforcement)

Models:
2004-2005 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx

This bulletin is being revised to add part quantities to the part information and revise the warranty information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin
Number 04-08-1 0-004A (Section 08 - Body and Accessories).

Condition

Some customers may comment that the rear sunshade comes loose from the rear sunroof trim and snaps shut.

Cause

This may be caused by wind buffeting from driving with the windows open, vibrating from driving over rough roads or solar exposure causing the rear
sunroof trim to soften and deform.

Correction

To correct this condition, add a reinforcement on the left and right sides of the rear sunroof trim using the following procedure.

Procedure

1.

Remove the headliner.

2.

Remove any adhesive from the back side of the rear sunroof trim in the area where the reinforcement will be installed. Refer to the illustration
above.
