Knock Sensor: Service and Repair
KNOCK SENSOR (KS) REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting
2. Disconnect the knock sensor wiring harness electrical connector.
3. Remove the knock sensor.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: DO NOT apply thread sealant to the sensor threads. The sensor threads are coated at the factory. Applying additional sealant affects
the sensors ability to detect detonation.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Install the knock sensor.
Tighten
Tighten the knock sensors to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
2. Connect the knock sensor wiring harness electrical connector.
3. Lower the vehicle.
