Drive Belt Replacement
DRIVE BELT INSPECTION
1. Inspect the drive belt for cracks in the belt ribs. If cracks are found, decide whether or not the cracks are serous enough to impair the belt's
performance. Replace the belt if the performance is seriously impaired. If any sections of the belt ribs are missing, replace the belt. Refer to the
applicable drive belt removal and installation procedure below
2. Inspect the belt for the proper alignment on the pulleys.
3. If the drive belt is improperly aligned, align the drive belt.
4. Inspect the drive belt tension.
A/C COMPRESSOR DRIVE BELT REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove 6 push clips and the right front lower splash shield.
4. Loosen the tension pulley retaining nut (4) and the tension bolt (1).
5. Remove the A/C compressor drive belt (7) from the pulleys.
