Wheel Fastener: Service and Repair
Front Suspension
REMOVAL PROCEDURE

J 6627-A Wheel Stud Remover
CAUTION: If one stud is damaged, race all the studs. A loose running wheel may cause only one stud to break, but the other studs could. I
have internal fatigue. Replacing only the broken stud and remounting the wheel may cause it further damage and personal injury. If the stud
holes in the wheels have become enlarged or distorted, replace the wheel.
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the front tires and the wheels. Refer to WHEEL REMOVAL.
3. Remove the following items:

The brake caliper; Refer to BRAKE CALIPER REPLACEMENT in DISC BRAKES.

The caliper carrier
^
The rotor
4. Install a wheel stud nut onto the wheel stud.
5. Use the J 6627-A in order to remove the wheel stud from the hub.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the washers on the wheel stud.
2. Pull the wheel stud into position with the wheel nut.
3. Remove the wheel nut and the washers.
4. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER REPLACEMENT in order to install the following items:

The brake caliper
^
The caliper carrier
^
The rotor
