Pinion, pinion gasket and pinion oil seal for wear or damage. Replace any part found to be faulty.

Pinion needle bearing for wear and rotational smoothness. Replace if faulty.

Steering rack bushing for damage or wear. Replace if found to be faulty.

Steering rack runout:

Runout using J 8001 with J 26900-13. If runout exceeds 0.40 mm (0.016 inch), replace the rack.
