Accumulator: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
3. Place a drain pan or a suitable container under the transaxle fluid pan.
4. Allow the transaxle to cool, if necessary. Remove the transaxle drain plug (1) from the transaxle fluid pan (3) after the transaxle has cooled. Drain
the transaxle fluid.
5. Remove the following components from the transaxle:

The 13 bolts and 2 crossed recessed bolts.

The transaxle fluid pan guard 2
^
The fluid pan 3
^
The fluid pan gasket
6. Disconnect the direct clutch (2) and the second brake solenoid (1) electrical connectors from the direct clutch and second brake solenoids.
