Front Door Energy Absorber Pad Replacement (Monte Carlo - Outer)
Removal Procedure
Caution: This vehicle has energy-absorbing foam blocks for side impact protection. To help avoid personal injury in a collision, foam blocks that are
damaged, or removed during repairs must be replaced. Failure to replace foam blocks that are removed can violate federal law.
1. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Impala) Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Monte
Carlo).
2. Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Impala) Front Side Door Water Deflector
Replacement (Monte Carlo).
3. Remove the front door window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Impala) Front Side Door Window Regulator

4. Remove the front door energy absorber pad clip from the front door.
Grasp the front door energy absorber with hands and pull it away from the front door.
5. Use a rag and alcohol to clean the adhesive off the door panel.
Installation Procedure
1. Remove the protective tape from the adhesive strip on the back side of the front door energy absorber pad.
2. Install the front door energy absorber pad to the front door.
Press firmly on the front door energy absorber pad to secure to the front door panel.
3. Install the front door energy absorber pad clip to the front door.
4. Install the front door window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement (Impala) Front Side Door Window Regulator

5. Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Impala) Front Side Door Water Deflector
Replacement (Monte Carlo).

Carlo).
