Fuel Door: Service and Repair

Fuel Tank Filler Door Replacement (Monte Carlo)

Removal Procedure

1. Open the fuel filler door. 
2. Remove the fuel filler pocket. Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement (Impala)   (See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and

3. Remove the nuts from the inside of the quarter panel on the fuel filler door.
4. Remove the fuel filler door from the quarter panel.

Installation Procedure

1. Align the fuel filler door studs to the holes in the quarter panel.

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice   in Cautions and Notices.

Install the nuts on the inside of the quarter panel to the fuel filler door studs. 

Tighten the fuel filler door nuts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

2. Install the fuel filler pocket. Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement (Impala)   (See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air

3. Close the fuel filler door.
