5. Install the hood release cable retainers to the engine compartment side rail.
6. Install the hood release cable retainers to the upper tie bar.
7. Connect the hood release cable to the hood latch.
8. Install the air cleaner.

For the 3.4 L engine, refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Computers and Control Systems.

For the 3.8 L engine, refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Computers and Control Systems.
9. Install the hood release cable to the hood release handle.
10. Install the carpet back to its original position.
11. Remove the block from the hood latch.
12. Inspect the hood release cable for proper operation before closing the hood.
13. Close the hood.
