Rocker Arm Assembly: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE 

1. Remove the valve rocker arm cover(s). Refer to Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement (Left Front) and/or Valve Rocker Arm Cover

Replacement (Right Rear).

2. Remove the rocker arm pedestal retaining bolt(s).

IMPORTANT:  Place the parts on a clean surface. Store the components in order so they can be reassembled in the same location and with the
same mating surfaces as when removed.

3. Remove the rocker arm bearing(s) and the rocker arm(s).

4. Remove push rod guide plate(s) if all rocker arms are removed.

5. Remove the push rod(s).
6. Clean the push rod(s), rocker arm(s), the bolt(s) and the guide plate(s) in a suitable solution.
7. Clean the rocker arm bolt(s) of all thread adhesive.
