Monte Carlo V6-3.8L VIN K (1998)
NOTICE: Install the oil level sensor, located in the oil pan, after the oil pan is installed. The sensor may be damaged if the oil level sensor is
installed first.
2. Install the oil pan.
3. Apply thread lock compound GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent to the oil pan bolt threads.
4. Install the oil pan bolts.

Tighten the oil pan bolts to 14 Nm (125 inch lbs.).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
IMPORTANT: Do not overtighten bolts or damage to the oil pan may occur, resulting in an oil leak.
5. Lower the engine, using the engine support fixture.
6. Install the engine mount bracket bolts to the engine. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement.
7. Install the oil level sensor.

Tighten the oil level sensor to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
8. Connect the oil level sensor wiring harness connector.
9. Install the torque converter cover. Refer to Torque Converter Cover Replacement in Automatic Transmission/Transaxle.
