Monte Carlo V6-3.8L VIN K (1998)
7. Apply sealer GM P/N 1052080 or equivalent to the bolt threads.
IMPORTANT: Align the cogs on the crankshaft sprocket with the cogs on the oil pump gear set in the engine front cover.
8. Install the engine front cover on the engine.
9. Install the crankshaft position sensor.
10. Install the engine front cover bolts (1-7).

Tighten the engine front cover bolts to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.). Use the J36660 in order to rotate the bolts an additional 40 degrees.
11. Inspect the oil pan gasket. Replace it if necessary.
12. Install the oil pan to the engine front cover bolts, and the oil pan bolts if loosened.

Tighten the oil pan to the engine front cover bolts to 14 Nm (125 inch lbs.).
13. Install the water pump pulley. Refer to Water Pump Replacement (3800 Engine) in Cooling System.
