Audible Warning Device: Component Tests and General Diagnostics
The seat belt/ ignition key/lamps alarm provides for an audible warning for the following:

Fasten seat belt reminder
^
Key in ignition reminder.
^
Headlamps ON reminder.
Headlamps On Reminder
Voltage is applied to the seat belt/ignition key/lamps alarm connector terminal A1 (lights on input) when the headlamp switch is in the PARK or
HEAD position. When voltage is present at the lights on Input (terminal A1) AND no voltage is present in the ignition switch input (terminal D2),
the seat belt/ignition key/lamps alarm sounds the headlamps on reminder.
Key In Ignition Reminder
When the ignition key is in the ignition lock cylinder. the ignition key warning switch closes. When the driver's door is open, the LF door lock
closes. When the ignition key warning switch and the LF door lock switch are closed, circuit 80 and 159 are grounded. The seat belt/ignition
key/lamps alarm sends a reference voltage signal to terminal C1 (circuit 80) at all times. When the seat belt/ignition key/lamps alarm senses a
voltage drop in the key in ignition input (terminal C1) AND no voltage is present in the ignition switch input (terminal D2), the seat belt/ignition
key/lamps alarm sounds the key in ignition reminder
Fasten Seat Belt Reminder
The seat belt/ ignition key/lamps alarm applies voltage to the driver seat belt switch circuit 238 when the ignition switch is in the RUN, BULB
TEST, and START positions.
When the driver's seat belt is unfastened (released), the driver seat belt switch closes, grounding circuit 238. The seat belt/ignition key/lamps alarm
senses a voltage drop at the seat belt switch input (terminal A2).
When the driver's seat belt is fastened, the driver seal belt switch opens. The seat belt/ignition key/lamps alarm senses voltage at the seat belt
switch input (terminal A2). If voltage is present at the ignition switch input (terminal D2) AND the seat belt switch input is grounded (terminal
A2), then the seat belt/ignition key/lamps alarm sounds the fasten seat belt reminder chime for 4 to 8 seconds, or until the driver's seat belt is
fastened. The 4 to 8 second chime sound period starts at the beginning the ignition cycle and does not repeat during that ignition cycle.
The seat belt, Ignition /lamps alarm controls the fasten belts indicator. The seat belt/ ignition key/lamps alarm applies voltage to circuit 234 when
the driver seat belt switch is closed (driver's seat belt is unfastened) AND voltage is present in the ignition switch input (terminal D2). This action
turns ON the fasten belts indicator When the driver seat belt is open (driver's seat belt is fastened), the seat belt/ ignition key/lamps alarm no
longer applies voltage to circuit 234. This action turns OFF the fasten belts indicator.
