Monte Carlo V6-3.8L VIN K (1998)
Description
1. Install the trim cover tether (1) to the inflatable restraint IP module (4).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Vehicle Damage Warnings.
2. Install the trim cover tether mounting fasteners (3) to the inflatable restraint IP module (4).
Tighten
Tighten fasteners to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
Description
3. Install the inflatable restraint IP module (1) to the cross-car beam (2).
4. Install the inflatable restraint IP module mounting fasteners (3).
Tighten
Tighten fasteners to 7 N.m (62 lb in).
Description
5. Install the inflatable restraint IP module trim cover to the instrument panel.
5.1.
Align the trim cover rear ball studs (2) with the retaining clips.
5.2.
Push forward and down on the trim cover (1) until the front ball studs (3) seat into the retaining clips.
