Monte Carlo V6-3.8L VIN K (1998)
Description
1. Install the seat belt retractor side belt (1) to the vehicle.
2. Install the belt retractor into the T-slot in the quarter lower trim finish panel (3).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Use the J 29843-9 in order to install the seat belt retractor bolt (2).
Tighten
Tighten the seat belt retractor bolt to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).
4. Route the belt (4) through the hole at the bottom of the carpet retainer.
5. Position the anchor plate to the center pillar.
6. Use the J 29843-9 in order to install the lower seat belt anchor plate bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the lower seat belt anchor plate bolt to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).
7. Route the belt (4) through the slot in rear carpet retainer.
8. Install the rear carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainers in Seats and Carpet.
Description
9. Install the upper guide loop (6) to the adjuster bracket (1).
10. Install the upper seat belt guide loop nut (5).
Tighten
Tighten the upper seat belt guide loop nut to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).
11. Close the upper seat belt guide loop plastic cover.
