Rear Wheel Spindle Rod Replacement (Rear)
Removal
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
2. Remove the tire and wheel.
3. Remove the rod to knuckle bolt (3) and washer.
4. Remove the rod nut (7) at the rear suspension support.
5. Push the bolt (6) forward enough to provide rod removal clearance.
6. Remove the rear wheel rear spindle rod (2).
Installation
1. Install the rear wheel rear spindle rod (2).
2. Push the bolt (6) rearward through the rod bushing.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners
requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use
paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint
clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid
damage to parts and systems.
3. Install the rod nut (7) at the rear suspension support.

Tighten
Tighten the rear wheel spindle rear rod to the suspension support nut to 150 Nm (111 lb ft).
4. Install the rod to knuckle bolt (4) using thread locker, GM P/N 1052624 (or equivalent).

Tighten
Tighten the rod to knuckle bolt to 240 Nm (177 lb ft).
