Carburetor Solenoid: Description and Operation
Idle Stop Solenoid Adjustment
The Idle stop solenoid is mounted on the carburetor and is used to increase throttle opening during certain deceleration modes and when the A/C is
"ON". The solenoid is controlled by a relay which is controlled by the ECM. The ECM completes the ground in the circuit to energize the relay and
cause the solenoid plunger to extend only if the A/C is "ON". When the relay is de-energized a fixed throttle opening is maintained on deceleration
regardless of A/C position.
