Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

EVAP Canister Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.

2. Remove the two bolts (3) on the muffler assembly.
3. Remove the muffler retaining band (2).
4. Remove the muffler (1) from the vehicle.

5. Disconnect the fill limiter vent valve (FLVV) hose (1) from the EVAP canister port (2) by pinching both sides of the FLVV hose connector.

6. Disconnect the three EVAP hoses (3) from the EVAP canister (1).
7. Disconnect the drain hose (2) from the EVAP canister vacuum pipe.
8. Disconnect the electrical connector (4) from the fuel tank pressure sensor (5).
9. Disconnect the EVAP pressure switching solenoid electrical connector.
