Oil Pan: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1.
Remove engine as outlined under ``Engine, Replace.''
2.
Remove nuts and bolts attaching oil pan to cylinder block and remove oil pan.
3.
Remove oil level gage guide tube from the intake manifold and oil pan.

INSTALLATION
1.
Apply a thin coat of Permatex No. 2, or equivalent, to locations indicated by arrows, Fig. 16.
2.
Install new oil pan gasket aligning holes and install oil pan on cylinder block.
3.
Install nuts and bolts and torque evenly to 4 ft. lbs.Check edge of gasket to check proper positioning. If projection of gasket edge beyond the
oil pan flange is uneven, remove and reinstall, Fig. 17.
4.
Install engine into vehicle as outlined under ``Engine, Replace.''
