1983 Vehicles

The original transmission mount and associated parts must be replaced when installing the damper on all applicable 1983 vehicles
produced before the damper was available. Figure 2-A shows those parts which are to be discarded. Install the damper assembly using the
parts listed below. The installation

is shown in Figure 2-B. The transmission support member is already slotted to accommodate the dual captive stud mounting feature of the new mount
assembly.

Finalize each installation by torquing the retainer bolts to 54-65 N-m (40-43 ft.lbs.) and the torque-prevailing nuts to 28-38 N-m (21-28 ft.lbs.).

Prior to reuse, clean and inspect the torque-prevailing nuts for damage. Replace nut with P/N 11501033 (standard part) if necessary.
