Valve Clearance: Adjustments

Before adjusting valve clearances, check the rocker arm shaft bracket nuts for looseness and retighten as necessary.

2.

Bring either No. 1 or No. 4 piston to top dead center on the compression stroke by turning the crankshaft to align timing mark on crankshaft pulley
with pointer.

3.

Hold crankshaft in above position and adjust clearance of the valves indicated, Fig. 5, to specifications. Take measurement at the clearance
between rocker arm and valve stem.

4.

Turn crankshaft one full turn and adjust clearance of remaining valves to specifications.
