Apply a 1mm bead (approx. 1/32") of anaerobic sealer (Loctite 515 or equivalent) to the cap between the rear main seal end and the oil pan rear
seal groove. Keep sealant off the rear main seal, bearing, and out of the drain slot, Fig. 15.

Just prior to assembly, apply a light coat of engine oil on the crankshaft surface that will contact the seal.

Install rear main bearing cap. Torque bolts to 95 N-m (70 ft.lbs.). If other main bearing bolts were loosened, retorque as necessary.
