Stabilizer Bar: Service and Repair
Front Suspension
STABILIZER SHAFT REPLACEMENT
Remove or Disconnect
^
Raise the vehicle and support it with safety stands.
Important: Be sure to remove pans from the right and left front of the vehicle and keep them separated.
1. Bolts (105).
2. Clamp (104).
3. Nuts (111).
4. Clamp (108).
5. Stabilizer shaft (107).
6. Insulators (106 and 110).
Inspect: All parts for wear and damage.
Install or Connect
^ Unload the torsion bar.
1. Insulators (106 and 110) to the stabilizer shaft (107).
^ Make sure the slit in the insulator (110) faces forward.
2. Stabilizer shaft (107) to the frame (95) and lower control arm (93).
3. Clamp (104) to the insulator (106).
4. Bolts (105) to the weld nuts (103).
Tighten
Bolts (105) to 33 N.m (24 lbs. ft.).
5. Clamp (108) to the insulator (110).
^ Make sure the slot in the insulator faces forward.
