Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair

1.

Remove drive belts.

2.

Remove center bolt, then slide hub and pulleys off crankshaft.

3.

Carefully pry seal from front cover, taking care not to damage or distort cover.

4.

Install seal with helical lip toward rear of engine, using crankshaft seal installer tool No. J-34995 or equivalent Fig. 9, to seat seal in cover.

5.

Coat seal lip with clean engine oil, then reverse remaining procedure to complete installation.
