Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

NOTE:  Procedures related to replacement of the individual components have been described previously and should be followed, or damage may occur.

REMOVAL:

1.

Remove the throttle body injection unit.

2.

Remove the fuel meter body-to-throttle body attaching screw and washer assemblies.

3.

Remove the fuel meter assembly.

4.

Remove the fuel meter body to throttle body gasket and discard.

 
INSTALLATION:

1.

Install the new fuel meter body to throttle body gasket.

2.

Install the fuel meter assembly on the throttle body assembly.

3.

Install the fuel meter body to throttle body attaching screw and washer assemblies. Tighten screws to 6.0 Nm (53.0 lb-in).

4.

Install TBI unit onto the engine.

5.

Check minimum idle speed of engine. Refer to MINIMUM AIR RATE ADJUSTMENT/ ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES.
