2. Shield to the starter (4.3L only).
Tighten

Shield nuts to 12 Nm (106 lbs. in.).
3. Starter and shims (if equipped) to the vehicle.
4. Bracket to the engine mount bolt (2.2L only). Do not tighten.
5. Starter to the engine block bolts.
Tighten
-
Bracket to engine bolt to 43 Nm (32 lbs. in.).

Starter bolts to 43 Nm (32 lbs. in.).
6. Wires to the solenoid.
7. Flywheel cover.
8. Negative battery cable.
