PRODUCT CAMPAIGN 93C06 - REMOTE ENGINE OIL FILTER ADAPTER
Model and Year:
1992 4-WHEEL DRIVE S10 TRUCKS W/ 4.3L ENGINES
TO: All Chevrolet Dealers
General Motors has determined that certain 1992 4-Wheel Drive (4WD) S10 trucks and utility vehicles with 4.3L engines (RPO's LB4 or L35; VIN's
Code Z or W) may have remote engine oil filter adapters that were improperly machined. The condition is internal to the adapter and would not give any
outward indication of a problem. However, an improperly machined adapter could result in the engine oil not properly flowing through the oil filter
and/or cooler (if equipped).
To correct this condition, dealers are to install a new remote engine oil filter adapter, and change the engine oil and oil filter.
