SURGE ON DECELERATION

Model and Year: 1982-84 S-10 WITH 1.9L

ISUZU ENGINES

TO:

ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS

Accelerator Plate, Accelerator Rod

Some 1982-84 S-10 vehicles equipped with the 1.9L Isuzu (LR1) engine may experience a surging condition while being operated at
highway speeds in the deceleration (coast down) mode. This condition may be caused by misadjustment of the primary fuel cut off
switch located inside the passenger compartment on the accelerator pedal support bracket. The accelerator pedal switch can be
readjusted by bending the TAB portion of the switch toward the cowl so that the switch does not close until the accelerator pedal is in
the full up or closed throttle position.
