Silverado 1500 2WD V8-4.8L VIN V (2006)
1. Correctly position the spark plug washer.
2. Inspect the spark plug gap. Adjust the gap as needed.
Spark plug gap: 1.016 mm (0.040 in)
3. Hand start the spark plug in the corresponding cylinder.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Tighten the spark plug.

Tighten the plug to 15 N.m (11 lb ft) for used heads.

Tighten the plug to 20 N.m (15 lb ft) for NEW heads.
5. Install the spark plug wire.
