1. If installing the old sensor, coat the threads with sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent.

Caution:  Refer to Fastener Caution   (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution) .

2. Install the ECT sensor.

Tighten the sensor to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).

3. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (2) to the ECT sensor (1).
4. Refill the cooling. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac-N-Fill)   (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Service and

Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill)   (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Service and Repair) .
