Crankshaft Balancer Replacement

J38416-B Harmonic Balancer Remover

^

J42845 Crankshaft Balancer Installer

^

J42846 Crankshaft Balancer Protector Button

^

J42847 Flywheel Holding Tool

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the Air Conditioning (A/C) belt.
2. Remove the fan.

4. Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Important:  Ensure that the teeth of the flywheel holding tool engage the engine flywheel teeth.

Install the J42847 to the starter bolt holes.
Tighten the J42847 bolts to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).

5. Remove the crankshaft balancer bolt and washer.

6. Install the J42846 onto the end of the crankshaft.
