5. Apply threadlock to the threads of the camshaft thrust plate bolts. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers (See:
Specifications/Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers) for the correct part number.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution).
6. Install the camshaft thrust plate bolts and tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).
Note: Use a suitable tool to relieve the spring tension wile removing the locking bolt.
7. Remove the exciter ring bolt that was installed to hold the spring tension of the two piece cam gear.
