Idle-Up Compensator: Testing and Inspection
Electric Load  Vacuum Switching Valve

Testing

1.

Disconnect electric load VSV hoses at three-way joints.

2.

With ignition switch ``Off,'' blow air from end of one hose, then check that VSV valve has no continuity.

3.

With ignition switch and headlamp switch ``On,'' blow air from end of one hose, then check that VSV has continuity.

4.

Connect hoses. If checks are not satisfactory, disconnect VSV connector.

5.

With ignition switch and headlamps ``On,'' check that 12 volts are present at white/red lead wire on wire harness side of disconnected connector. 
After checking, turn off switches.

6.

Check that resistance between terminals on VSV side of disconnected connector is 51 - 57 ohms.

Adjusting
    For idle-up adjustment, refer to ``Tune Up Section.''
