Rear Compartment Lid Won't Open Far Enough to Allow Finger Access (Install New Struts and Hinges)

2003-2006 Chevrolet SSR

Attention:

This repair will NOT work with RPO Option Code RAE - Hard Saddle Bags.

Condition

Some customers may comment that the rear compartment lid will not raise far enough to provide finger access for raising the lid to the full open position.

Please inform the customer that the design intent of the rear compartment lid is to open it far enough to allow finger access.

Correction

Replace both hinges and both strut assemblies following SI procedures.
