Push Rod: Service and Repair

Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement 
Removal Procedure 

1. Remove the valve rocker arm cover.

Important:  If the rocker arms are to be reused, mark the relationship and location of the rocker arm to ensure the proper installation of the rocker
arm.

2. Remove the rocker arm bolts.
3. Remove the rocker arms.

4. Remove the rocker arm pivot support.

Important:  If the pushrods are going to be reused, mark the location and position of the pushrod to ensure the proper installation of the pushrod.

5. Remove the pushrods.

Installation Procedure 

Important:  When reusing the valve train components, always install the components to the original location and position.
