Squeak Noise from Front Seats (Grease Spring on Lumbar Cable Assembly)

Condition
Some customers may comment on a squeak noise coming from the rear side of the front seat back.
Cause
This may be caused by the cable housing rubbing on the outboard spring from the seat lumbar system.
Correction
Technicians are to apply GM Super Lube(R), P/N 12346241 (in Canada, P/N 10953474) to the spring lumbar cable assembly (left and right) per the
instructions below:
1.
Remove the seat back panel by first detaching the toe kick elastic and then removing the two screws at the bottom of the seat back panel.
Important:
The seat back cover has four retaining hooks-two upper and one on each side as shown in the picture above (1).
2.
Position a rag behind the lumbar cable to prevent the seat back foam from becoming dirty.
Important:
DO NOT apply excess lubricant.
3.
Apply GM Super Lube(R), P/N 12346241 (in Canada, P/N 10953474) to the spring lumbar cable assembly (both left and right side).
