Squeak Noise from Third Row Seats (Properly Seat Escutcheons Over Seat Strikers and Apply Flock or Felt Tape to Seat Bars)

This bulletin is being revised to add the 2008 and 2009 model years. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 07-08-50-004 (Section 08 - Body and
Accessories).
Condition
Some customers may comment on a squeak noise coming from the third row of seats when the seats are in the tumbled (folded forward) position.
Cause
This condition may have two causes:

The plastic seat escutcheon (track cover) may not be properly seated over the seat strikers.
^
The metal seat bar near the front underside of the seats may be coming into contact with the plastic seat escutcheon.
Correction
1.
To verify the customer concern, flip the seat to the tumbled position and wiggle. Push seat outboard while wiggling. Listen for squeak noises.
2.
Visually inspect the rear of the seats to determine if there is contact between the metal seat bar and the plastic seat escutcheon (1).
3.
Remove both third row seats. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement (Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade with Bucket) or (Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade with Split Bench)
in SI.
4.
Visually inspect the plastic seat escutcheon to see if it is correctly seated over the strikers. An improperly seated escutcheon is shown (2). There
are three escutcheons for the third row. Inspect each escutcheon.
5.
Snap (seat) the plastic seat escutcheon into the correct position over the strikers if necessary.
