Refrigerant Pressure Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair
PRESSURE CYCLING SWITCH REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Refrigerant/Service and
Repair
2. Remove the grill.
3. Disconnect the A/C refrigerant pressure switch electrical connector (1).
4. Remove the A/C refrigerant pressure switch from the condenser outlet line. Use a second wrench to hold the line.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Install the A/C refrigerant pressure switch to the condenser outlet line. Use a second wrench to hold the line.
Tighten
Tighten the switch to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).
2. Connect the A/C refrigerant pressure switch electrical connector (1).
3. Install the grill.
4. Evacuate and recharge the air conditioning system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. See: Heating and Air
Conditioning/Refrigerant/Service and Repair
5. Operate the A/C system and inspect for refrigerant leaks. Refer to Leak Testing. See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Testing and
Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics/Leak Testing
