Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

ECT Sensor Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
2. Remove the ECT sensor electrical connector (3).
3. Remove the ECT sensor (2) from the coolant housing (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE:  Refer to Component Tightening Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install ECT sensor (2) to coolant housing (1).

Tighten
Tighten the ECT sensor to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

2. Connect the ECT sensor electrical connector (3).
3. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
