Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber: Service and Repair
Rear Shock Absorber

REMOVAL PROCEDURE 

1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Support the rear axle housing (1) by using a floor jack.

3. Remove the shock absorber nut (1).
4. Remove the lower mounting nut (8) and the lower mounting bolt (7).
5. Remove the following components:

The shock absorber (6)

-

The upper support (2)

-

The upper bushing (3)

-

The lower bushing (4)

-

The lower support (5)

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 

IMPORTANT:  Use a new shock absorber nut (1) when installing the shock absorber.

IMPORTANT:  DO NOT tighten the nuts and bolts completely. The weight of the vehicle must be on the wheels and tires before tightening the nuts
and bolts.
