Skid Plate: Service and Repair
Skid Plate Replacement - Steering Linkage
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Remove the 4 bolts (1, 2, 3, 4) that retain the steering linkage skid plate (5).
3. Remove the steering linkage skid plate (5) from the vehicle by sliding forward and lowering from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
1. Install the steering linkage skid plate (5) to the vehicle by raising and sliding rearward onto the retaining hook. Secure the skid plate with the 4
bolts (1, 2, 3, 4).
Tighten the steering linkage skid plate bolts to 54 N.m (40 lb ft).
2. Lower the vehicle.
