Brake Hose Replacement
Front
Brake Hose Replacement - Front
Removal Procedure
1. Siphon brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly.
4. Clean any dirt and foreign material from the hose and fittings.
5. Remove the front brake hose from the front brake pipe.
6. Remove the following from the front strut:

The upper hose clip
^
The lower hose clip
^
The front brake hose.
7. Remove the following from the brake caliper:
^
The brake hose bolt
^
The 2 seal washers
^
The brake hose
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Install the brake hose and the 2 seal washers to the brake caliper. Secure with the brake hose bolt.
Tighten the bolt to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.).
2. Install the following to the front strut:

The front brake hose.
^
The lower hose clip
^
The upper hose clip
3. Install the front brake hose to the front brake pipe.
4. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
5. Install the front tire and wheel assembly.
6. Lower the vehicle.
Rear
Brake Hose Replacement - Rear
Removal Procedure
1. Siphon brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
3. Clean any dirt and foreign material from the hose and the fittings.
4. Remove the rear brake hose from the right rear brake pipe.
5. Remove the rear brake hose from the center brake pipe.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the rear brake hose to the center brake pipe.
2. Install the rear brake hose to the right rear brake pipe.
3. Bleed the brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
4. Lower the vehicle.
